ZYLISS
Zyliss has developed into a leading Swiss traditional brand for household appliances since it was founded by Karl Zysset at the start of the 1950s. The Zyliss citrus and garlic press, the chopper which was popularised by TV advertisements in 1969, the salad spinner with the tug mechanism and table-top cheese grater all remain legendary to this day. Zyliss has belonged to the Diethelm Keller Group since 1985. Zyliss USA Corp. (USA) and Zyliss Deutschland GmbH (Germany) were established as subsidiaries in 1991 and 2005 respectively for the purposes of sales and distribution in their home markets.
Three traditional Swiss brands for the home sector – namely Zyliss, TURMIX and Koenig – have been brought together under one roof and management in Europe as DKG Household AG since 1 April 2006. This brand bundling will serve to strengthen brand innovativeness and further stimulate brand growth in domestic and international markets.
The brand is currently representative of a wide and matching range of high-quality products. Directed entirely towards satisfying impulse purchases, with around 30 core products and a global brand enjoying a high degree of recognition in Europe, Asia and the USA, Zyliss develops first-class household appliances. Zyliss – the affordable luxury for all those who value cooking as an emotional experience.
After Zyliss was granted a red dot award for outstanding product design for its new ice-cream scoop in 2003, the company received two further red dot awards in 2004 for the ‘easy spin’ salad spinner and the gourmet mandolin. In 2005, an additional three Zyliss products were honoured with the international design prize: the tomato peeler, the Duo grater and the cheese drum grater.
