A maximum of 3 Wusthof and/or Henckel knives will be accepted per person.
We are unable to sharpen scissors, cleavers, or any serrated edge knives.
You must be present at the time of sharpening.
OUTHOUSE RACES
Saturday, September 24th, 2011 !
The Outhouse races are one of Cochrane’s most unique family entertainment events. Hosted by the Heavenly Outhouse, the Outhouse races are a fund-raising opportunity for the local Cochrane businesses to support the Cochrane Activettes and to have some real fun! Business teams of four pull their “outhouse” and fifth person who has to sit on the thrown, down the street in a timed heat. Racing against one another for the fastest leg and sporting their best costumes, the teams compete for the two coveted prizes: the fastest team trophy and the best costume trophy.
The Pepper Potty has participated for the last few years with various themes. In 2005 we were an all “peppers” potty. In 2006 we had a cookie themed potty with cookie monster chasing our outhouse. In 2007 we went with a strawberry shortcake themed potty and gave out mini cupcakes. In 2008 we will have a Candyland themed potty with the characters giving out various candies. In 2009 we had a Sesame Street themed potty with Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, Cookie Monster and Elmo pulling Kermit the Frog. Unfortunately, the races were cancelled in 2010.
In 2011, the Outhouse races were back with avengence... we renewed our team name and became the "Kitchen Scrappers" with a knife, two forks and a spoon pulling our Swedish Chef mascot. We raced against our sister-store Bijou Clothing Company and their "Chariot of Fire" and unfortunately, lost. However, for an all-woman team, clocked our fastest time in our Outhouse history! We had a really great time and made a $500 donation to the Activettes - so in the end, everyone won:)
